New York Fashion Week will be back with a bang come September 8th. And while the schedule has been whittled down to 5 days vs the traditional 7, designers are coming out of Covid lockdown hibernation with flourish. The schedule is robust, and despite severe vaccination requirements, the shows will go on.

NYFW will kick off with Ulla Johnson and close with Tom Ford, and feature the return to New York of Thom Browne and Altuzarra, along with anniversary shows for Carolina Herrera and Rachel Comey. Other names on the schedule include Michael Kors, Gabriela Hearst, Tory Burch, Oscar de la Renta, Jason Wu, Maryam Nassir Zadeh, Sergio Hudson, Coach, Proenza Schouler, Rodarte, Brandon Maxwell, Zero Maria Cornejo, Markarian, Telfar, Khaite, Staud, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Kevan Hall, Victor Glemaud, and Rebecca Minkoff.

New York Fashion Week will also be embracing newer names like Hanifa, Willy Chavarria, LaQuan Smith, Eckhaus Latta, KHIRY, Batsheva, Theophilio, Studio 189, House of Aama, and Kenneth Nicholson.

Right now, the city is quiet with secret model castings and collection sewing. Editors are either relaxing, catching up on sleep, or planning their looks. I can say that I'm doing a little bit of both.

Aside from planning out my #OOTD, I am also planning my own NYFW show, the Bomb Fashion Show, taking place September 11th. The all day affair will feature designs by Mah Jing Wong, Shane Justin, Bree Original Designs, and Khang Le, along with performances, food, drinks, and more. You can RSVP here.

So after two years, fashionistas, editors, and influencers can finally bring their clothes out of hiding, dust them off, and get ready to strut. If you plan on attending, just be sure to bring flats, an extra battery charger, and your mask.
