Despite the Omicron variant nipping at our heels, this weekend seemed the most action packed, with Fashion Week unfurling in New York and Superbowl setting the tone in LA. While Empire State style devotees dodged snowflakes in stilettos to take in shows like Christian Siriano, Sergio Hudson, and Victor Glemaud, the celeb set stationed themselves in LA for football festivities.

The most talked about event in our world was not that the Rams won, but rather the game's EPIC Halftime performance! Mary J Blige looked absolutely brilliant in custom Dundas, styled by Jason Rembert, along with Diamond hoops from her Sister Love MJB line.

Kendrick Lamar made the crowd hype in Louis Vuitton, while Snoop Dogg was fly in custom Talia Coles (this design is coming soon to his Snoopys Clothing line). Dr. Dre, Eminimen, and 50 cent skewed simple in black pieces.

This was one of the best Superbowl Halftime Performances ever! The Crip walking, dancing, and tributes to Tupac were on point. Relive the magic here.

Over in New York, Fashion Week was just as exciting!

Sergio Hudson unleashed his Spring 2022 offering, which bubbled over with the monochromatic looks for which he is known, enlivened by a few new prints ( leopard and stripes reigned supreme). Hudson told The State of Fashion, "We stepped out a little bit. I wanted to show the full gamut of who I am as a designer." The brand's co-creator Charles Lynch added, "The inspiration was inspired by the African Mbele tribe and their jewelry. We wanted to bring that story to how we live in Beverly Hills. So it's like Africa meets Beverly Hills. What would Cher from Clueless wear on Safari?"

Christian Siriano presented his Fall 2022 collection, entitled "Victorian Matrix." In his show notes, he wrote, "The name comes from so many references to the time we are living in--some days we are living in the Victorian era, while others feel like we're living in the Matrix. What is real anymore? I hope that this collection shows that fashion remains powerful and dreamlike, and can become the reality if we let it happen, despite the circumstances. So let imagination run free." He presented his signature dramatic ball gowns, interspersed with bodycon leather pieces in bold hues. Stretch leather has been ubiquitous this season, but in new colorways. Though beautiful, we'll have to see how wearable these pieces are in real life.

Another stand out collection was Victor Glemaud, who featured an all black cast of models, draped in monochromatic looks (I sense a theme here!). Black bled into oranges, tans, and then whites. Silhouettes were simple, stretchy, and flattering on all frames. American fashion is generally about the bottom line: Can it sell? Can it fit a range of body types? It is quality? Glemaud's show certainly checked all the boxes.

Most pieces are available for Pre-Order now.

While there were many, many more fashion moments, behold some highlights from the past few days. What say you?

And what was your favorite moment from Superbowl and Fashion Week?
